First Days Progress

So far so good. Now its probaly going to get tricky!

Victorian Railways Icon

Ok, think its time I had a real go at a loco for RW. I familar enough with 3ds Max 9 to find my way around and I can make simple shapes (Boxes, Circles etc...) to make a loco, but I want to learn how to make more 'detailed' things (Rivets, Rods, Handrails, etc...) And figure out how to animate. So I' going to need a little bit of help from you guys.

The loco that I have chosen is from the Victorian Railways down here in Australia. A true icon of the VR. I have made a start and this is as fair as I have got.

Still Here

I'm still here. I've been tied up of late orgainising stuff for a race car simulator (rFactor) so I haven't had much time for Railworks. Trying to remember where I was up to. I think I better get back to trying to get an NR loco running in game for someone else. There was something else I was meant to do but can't remember......

Also of late I have re-traced the Bowser-Everton-Bright-Beechworth Line and the Tallaroook-Yea-Cathkin-Alexandra-Mansfield line. Now if I can get around to getting the trunk done (North East Main) some of these branches of it could be a possibility.

Setting up a route in RS

This tutorial should also work in RailWorks. The folder structure will vary untill you get to the railworks folder. The source and assets part is the same though.

A lil bit flat...

Yeah thats right, I'm feeling a lil bit flat......
My first attempts at modeling for RailWorks andpretty much just modeling in general. Do I have a lot to learn.... ATM it still needs unwrapping but I do have it running in game albeit with dodgie physics.

Welcome

G'Day all.
This blog is all about the newish train simulator RailWorks and will showcase any and all Australian content for it. Be it early building, in the paint shops or on the track. Hopefully this may inspire others to have a go.
